Europaproperty.com SEE Real Estate Awards for 2007

Building on the success of the SEE Real Estate Awards in 2005 and 2006 Europaproperty.com is proud to present the Third Annual SEE Real Estate Awards for 2007. Last year's Awards Gala was attended by over 350 industry professionals from the major companies active in the South Eastern European commercial real estate, investment and construction sectors.

The Annual SEE Real Estate Awards Gala for 2007 will take place on 8 May 2008 and will be held once again at the JW Marriott Hotel in Bucharest, Romania. Companies and individuals will be presented with awards as an acknowledgement by the industry as to their contribution to the development of the real estate and related industries in South Eastern Europe in 2007. The event provides an opportunity to make new contacts and renew existing business relationships in a pleasant social environment.

Responding to the growing interest in, and significance of, the real estate and related industries in South Eastern Europe from both a development and investment perspective, the event covers Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro. It sets out to provide recognition for the most accomplished projects in the region and to those companies and individuals who have contributed most to the development of the market in the different sectors, as voted for by market professionals.

With local and international media organisations present, the Awards Gala will also act as a vehicle to publicise the various market sectors and the companies that count in them.

EUROPAPROPERTY AWARDS LEADING COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE COMPANIES, PROJECTS AND PROFESSIONALS IN SEE

BUCHAREST, Romania - The Serbian property market has continued to develop with the winning of the Retail Project of the Year at the third annual Europaproperty SEE Real Estate Awards for 2007 for the Delta City 67 retail project in central Belgrade. The award was presented by Miss Serbia 2005, Jelena Mandic, to the Serbian developers Delta Real Estate last night at a Gala Dinner at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, attended by over 350 industry professionals. Further evidence of the emergence of the Serbian market was that Airport City Belgrade won the Office Project of the Year.

The aim of the event is to provide publicity for the commercial real estate and related industries and to acknowledge the most accomplished commercial real estate developments in Southeastern Europe.

The jury of 15 senior industry professionals active in the SEE region chose the Romanian Baneasa Rezidential in Bucharest as the Residential Project of the Year and the role of ProLogis in SEE was acknowledged with the jury choosing the ProLogis Park Bucharest A1 development as the Industrial Project of the Year for 2007.

Developer of the Year was Globe Trade Center (GTC) while the Austrian investor Immoeast, which has been very active in the region, won the prize for Investor of the Year. Bank Austria/Unicredit Group was presented with the prize for Bank of the Year. Colliers International, which has just opened an office in Montenegro, was chosen as the Consultant/Letting Agent of the Year. First Title won the Professional Service Provider of the Year prize, Chapman Taylor the Architectural Firm of the Year award, Wolf Theiss won Law Firm of the Year and Gardiner & Theobald the Construction Management Firm of the Year award.

It is nice to be appreciated by people in the market. 2007 was a good year for us in every way in the region,” said Mark Rea of Gardiner & Theobald when accepting the award.

Michael Lloyd, who has been active in Romania for several years with the Baneasa residential, office and retail development in northern Bucharest, was given a commendation by the jury. Philip Bay of Colliers International SEE, who has been working and living in SEE for over a decade, was voted Professional of the Year and Maria Teresa Dreo, Head of Real Estate, Bank Austria was voted the LandAmerica Woman of the Year.

The Gala dinner was preceded by a series of panel discussions on the markets in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia sponsored by the Romanian residential developer Asmita Gardens. At the event, Philip Bay emphasized the growing importance of the SEE region. “A lot of developers are working in two, three or four countries in the region at once. There is a lot of cooperation between the different countries, which is not seen on the television,” he commented.

Europaproperty would like to thank all the participants at the event and congratulate the winners. With increasing development activity in SEE, the awards for 2008, to be held in April 2009, will be even bigger more exciting.
