Cornerstone laid for Passenger 3 Terminal in Łódź Airport
Construction of a new passenger terminal in Łódź has officially started. The symbolic cornerstone laying ceremony marked the official construction of the Passenger 3 Terminal at the Władysław Reymont International Airport.
The Warsaw Branch of Hochtief Polska began works in the beginning of December 2009. The scope of the project comprises all construction works and supply of the necessary materials and equipment. The new terminal hall will include three above-ground storeys and an underground level. With 8,308 sqm of the designed base area, the terminal is going to have a total net area of 21,527 sqm. In addition to the premises allocated for passenger handling, the terminal will also consist of a luggage sorting facility, a car park and a 22.95 metre tall flight control tower.
Terminal 3 is expected to serve more than 1.5 million passengers every year. The venture is planned to be completed in May 2011.
Hochtief is also currently involved in the development of a new terminal at the Wrocław-Strachowice Airport, a project allocated to a consortium of Hochtief Polska and Hochtief Construction.
