Hochtief Polska starts construction works on Morski Park Handlowy

Construction works will start on Morski Park Handlowy no later than the 17th February. It will be the first Pomeranian complex to combine both outlet and traditional retail centre formulas. The general contractor of Liebrecht & wooD’s investment will be Hochtief Polska.

Morski Park Handlowy will consist of three sections, where there will be large, open space stores, a shopping mall, a food court and offices to rent. Fashion House Outlet Centre, which has been in existence since 2005, will become a part of the complex. Combining both outlet and traditional retail centre formulas will be the first such investment in northern Poland.

The agreement with Hochtief Polska covers the completion of all work related to the first, second and third phase of Morski Park Handlowy. The construction site will be handed over to Hochtief Polska on 17th February 2010. Six months later, construction work will begin on the second and third phase of Liebrecht & wooD’s investment. All construction works are planned for completion during the second quarter of 2011.

“The selection of a general contractor is another crucial step after choosing the investment location and the project. Our projects are known for having the highest quality of workmanship, therefore we’re glad that Morski Park Handlowy will be constructed by one of the best companies on the Polish market. Hochtief Polska selection as our general contractor came at the same time as we received full financial security for the project,” said Patrick Van Den Bossche, Liebrecht & wooD’s Managing Director.

Morski Park Handlowy will have about 50,000 sqm of retail space. The overall area, where the complex will be constructed is 160,247 sqm. That will include a car park with 1,500 parking spaces. The very first tenants of the park will be Carrefour (which will take up 8,412 sqm of space) and OBI (taking up 10,975 sqm). The project’s commercialisation will be managed by CB Richard Ellis.
